Merciport gave out cylinders at the 2nd edition of the “Choose to Challenge” campaign in the Ajegunle, Lagos State.

Merciport group has always been known for its drive towards sustainable energy for everyday life; but beyond creating effective solutions, making them accessible to those who need them the most is even more important.

We recognize this fact and recently took a radical step towards making LPG cooking gas accessible to people, even in very remote places where the traditional ways of cooking are often the only ways; due to widespread poverty and the consequent low standard of living.

Collaborating with our Non-profit subsidiary, Shunammite Foundation, we flagged off the “Choose to Challenge” campaign in the Ajegunle district of Lagos State. The campaign is aimed at ending the age-old habit of relying on traditional energy sources for cooking and promoting a shift towards cleaner and healthier alternatives such as Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).

Participants learned how conventional cooking methods endanger not just themselves but also the environment, and they were encouraged to embrace better options among other things.

In a bid to encourage this shift from the norm, several participants at the launch were given free LPG cylinders for their use. It was a delightful atmosphere as participants were impacted immensely and it is expected that they will go on to influence the larger community positive change.
